Rehabili Non-Balanced Rowing Machine

Aprašymas:

REHABILI is a non-balanced rowing machine having a unique, patented structure. An original lever-type academic rowing suspension allows to imitate fluctuations of a floating boat around the transverse axis and vertical shifts.

Moreover, the trainer has a passive stabilisation system which helps to ensure balance.

The rigidity of the elements of the stabilisation system can be adjusted depending on athlete’s weight and ability to maintain balance. It is also possible to limit their movement completely to ensure stability of the trainer and a training regime, which is equal to training with usual rowing machines.

REHABILI trainer allows to adjust resistance, angle and level of instability.

The trainer is certified according to European standard EN 957, meets class S/I . US patent application number: 14/433,102

Telemetry System for Sportsman-rower

Aprašymas:

The system consists of sensors which measure the force applied to the paddle, the speed and the acceleration of the boat in 3 axes as well as ECG parameters.

System sensors use less energy, allowing for longer operation and large communication distance (at least 50 m).

There are 5 sensors and 13 transmitted channels in total.

Trainer’s computer provides real-time swimming parameters.

The telemetry system is compact, light, available for use in various field conditions, and is reasonably accurate and reliable.

The Development of a Working Model of a Small Dosage Dispenser for Hardly-Flowing Products

Aprašymas:

The device will allow to study dosing processes of various substances.

It will allow to find optimum dosing modes and process parameters, such as efficiency, portion size and its precision, for specific free-flowing materials.

The device consists of a mechanical part which uses micromechanical components for implementing the dosing process and registering dosing process parameters from the electronic management, capturing, and data collection and processing system.

Novelty:

The development of the dosing method and device for hardly-flowing products uses research results from multiple scientific fields.

Combines product property studies, new and innovative machine-building principles, and micromechanical component studies allowed to create a new dosing method which offers a simple structure, flexible control and the option to adjust to the properties of a specific product.

Software for Optical Eye Fundus Image Analysis

Aprašymas:

The software is connected to the optical eye fundus image database which allows the doctor to analyse fundus images in interactive semi – automatic way.

The software segments images which are of suitable quality, recognizes standard fundus image objects-structures, and calculates their numerical parameters.

Novelty:

the software is not linked to diagnostic medical imaging devices and is compatible with all image types, automated image analysis tools, quantitative diagnostic indicators of pathological changes: optical nerve edema, turtuosity of vessels, retina degeneration, diabetic drusen.

The software is used in Eye Clinics, Hospital of Lithuanian  University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics.

A Non-Invasive Expert System for Diagnosis of Intraocular Tumors

Aprašymas:

The equipment is used for the analysis of ultrasonic radiofrequency (RF) signals.

The software can be used by ophthalmologists performing ultrasound eye diagnostics, working with ultrasound eye images and solving differential diagnosis tasks.

The software allows to interactively choose the tumor and supporting tissue areas to be analyzed in an ultrasonic image and provides dozens of different parameters and dependencies.

Novelty:

Advanced signal processing algorithms, extraction of ~20 tissues characterizing features, software for automatic differentiation of eye tissues.

As the technology level increases, modern medicine becomes inconceivable without complex electronic devices and their systems, which have become more and more reliable and sophisticated.

Connecting the pumps to the systems allows to monitor and consult patients remotely, or integrate the system to Hospital Information System and other data collection systems.

The IES research group has developed algorithms of data transfer and collection, software and hardware of data collection devices and the concept of System visualization. Software for Automated Parallel Analysis of Cardiovascular Signals

Aprašymas:

The program is being designed for automatic detection of cardiac characteristic points (20 detected) and intervals (7 detected) by using modern digital signal processing methods and referring to known interrelations between these signals.

The software also allows a cardiology specialist to interactively select analysis parameters and performs his/her own independent measurements using integrated tools, thus evaluating and specifying the results shown by the programme.

Novelty:

Cardiac time intervals and characteristic points acquired from synchronously recorded cardio signals provide the majority of data for clinical decision-making systems for clinical studies of patients with cardiovascular diseases and quick hemodynamic assessment of any patient in the intensive care unit.

Sonoporation Biophysical Experimental System with Feedback

Aprašymas:

The system allows to programme the centre frequency of ultrasound pulses, pulse duration and frequency.

It also allows to programme the amplitude of ultrasonic excitation pulses (acoustic pressure kPa) and evaluate ultrasound effect intensity homogeneity in a medium.

Novelty:

An ultrasound feedback channel allows to evaluate assess the hyperechogeneity dynamics of the medium and perform adaptive experiments with micro-bubble contrast agents in order to achieve higher transfer efficiency.

Wireless Multi-Sensory System for Registration of Physiological and Biomechanical Parameters

Aprašymas:

The portable, wireless sensor system is able to record synchronously 5 different modalities, 19 channel signals at different sampling rates. New circuit design and algorithmic solutions enable to register high quality biomedical signals: transmission and reflection mode photoplethysmogram, electrocardiogram, electropneumogram, acceleration and temperature signals.

The computer software enables to extract and analyse various parameters: heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure correlated parameter – pulse wave propagation time, and display them to the user.

Novelty:

Original digital signal processing algorithms installed in the device allow to effectively deal with motion artefacts, and to acquire high-quality biosignal databases for scientific research.

Vittamed 205 Non-invasive Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Meter with CE Mark

Aprašymas:

Vittamed 205 applies controlled external pressure (Pe) to the tissues surrounding the eye ball and uses two-depth Doppler ultrasound to compare simultaneous blood flow parameters in two contiguous segments of the ophthalmic artery (OA) – the intracranial and extracranial segments.

The device directly compares ICP and Pe values and can identify the balance ICP=Pe when blood flow pulsatilities in both OA segments are similar.

Method and System for Predicting of Acute Hypotensive Episodes

Hypotensive episodes most often happen for patients in intensive care units. Even short episodes can injure brain or cause death.

Developed system is analyzing patients’ physiological processes and depending on collected data predicts hypotensive episodes up to 30 minutes before it starts. Prediction of these episodes can reduce time and cost spent in intensive care units.

Aprašymas:

Long-term monitoring is an integral part of the management of chronic diseases. Upgraded standard bathroom scales with handlebar and footpad electrodes allows to measure weight and body composition, extract arterial stiffness characterizing parameter and detect heart arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation). Implemented signal processing algorithms are noise and artifacts resistant, hence, the device functions with adequate accuracy regardless of the user environment. Long-term health monitoring is simplified through scales integration into wireless health hub via Wi-Fi connection to the server.

Algorithms and Wrist Worn Device for Heart Arrhythmia Monitoring

Aprašymas:

The wrist worn device is intended to be used for unobtrusive and continuous (24/7) monitoring of heart arrhythmia, e.g., paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, premature ventricular beats. It uses biooptical signal photoplethysmogram and signal processing algorithms for real-time atrial fibrillation arrhythmia monitoring, e.g., during hemodialysis procedure or long-term, offline monitoring, e.g., in rehabilitation settings or at user home.

An additional feature of the device – capability to record electrocardiogram as a reference channel. This channel can be detached in unobtrusive usage scenario.

Novelty:

There is no biooptical signal based wrist worn device for heart arrhythmia monitoring currently on the market.

Determination of Position with the Help of Accelerometers

Aprašymas:

Supervision of residents of intelligent households, visitors of health care organisations, sports facilities usually requires the determination and evaluation of their body position.

Body position is determined with the help of two accelerometers, transferring coordinates of three vectors to the computer via wireless connection.

One accelerometer is placed on a chest, the other – on a hip. Static and dynamic positions are determined.

The intelligent household system can recognise position of a body and, if it is needed, will call the help automatically.
