Mechanical surface characterization and hardness testing
Description:
This service provides instrumental assessment of material surface properties through contact and optical techniques. Utilizing the Fischerscope HM 2000S system, we conduct dynamic indentation testing to determine Martens hardness, elastic modulus, and creep behavior in accordance with ISO 14577 standards. Surface morphology is quantified using the Time TR200 profilometer, which records essential roughness parameters (Ra, Rz). Furthermore, coating resistance to mechanical stress and scratching is evaluated using Elcometer spring-loaded sclerometers and pencil hardness testers. Surface energy and liquid interaction are analyzed via the Kruss DSA25 drop shape analyzer, measuring the contact angle. This combination of methods enables the detailed characterization of functional coatings, polymers, and metallic surfaces.
